Ryka Aprameyan leads Evergreen Valley to victory over Christopher

Recap: Evergreen Valley Cougars vs. Christopher Cougars

The Evergreen Valley Cougars waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with 11 straight wins but they left with 12. They strolled past Christopher with points to spare, taking the game 59-42. That's another feather in the cap for Evergreen Valley, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Ryka Aprameyan was her usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-10 from deep and dropping a double-double on 39 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Evergreen Valley's points. Xuan-Mai Nguyen was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds and six assists.

Evergreen Valley has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Christopher, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-6.

Evergreen Valley will head out on the road to take on Branham at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Branham is on a six-game streak of home wins, Evergreen Valley a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Christopher will take on Ann Sobrato at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ann Sobrato will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 324th, while Christopher is ranked 140th).
