Baseball Recap: Pinecrest Academy's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pinecrest Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lanier Christian Academy Lightning, sneaking past 3-2. The three-run effort marked the Paladins' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The team relied heavily on Matthew Mitchell, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory was the third in a row for Pinecrest Academy, bringing their record up to 10-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Lanier Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinecrest Academy will face off against Covenant Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Pinecrest Academy has won eight straight at home dating back to last season, while Covenant Christian Academy won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Lanier Christian Academy, they will square off against Pinecrest Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
