Softball Recap: Grundy Center Comes Up Short

Grundy Center suffered their closest defeat since June 16th on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Alburnett Pirates by a score of 3-1. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in July of 2024.

Grundy Center's defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Alburnett, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-11.

Grundy Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alburnett, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-1 loss against Durant on the 12th.
