Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Common Eagles vs. Lyons Lions

The Liberty Common Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Lyons Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty Common is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.9 points per game this season.

Liberty Common is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Highland. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Liberty Common's defeat came about despite a quality game from Pierce Richardson, who posted 17 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Clay, who had eight points along with five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Lyons' game on Tuesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They were the clear victor by a 60-37 margin over Front Range Baptist. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Falcons are ranked 80th).

Liberty Common's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Lyons, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4.

Liberty Common didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Lyons when the teams last played back in November of 2017, but they still walked away with a 55-49 victory.
