Basketball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were beaten by the Marshall Eagles 54-16. The Vikings lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in January of 2025, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 36-27 score last time.

As for Marshall, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Marshall's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaris Castro, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaemalynn Abilar, who had 15 points.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mountain View is set to square off against their familiar foe El Monte at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Marshall will face off against rival Arroyo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
