Defending Division 1 state champions Davison begins season at No. 1 overall.

Game on! The Michigan High School Athletic Association voted Thursday to reinstate the 2020 high school football season (as well as all fall sports) in response to an executive order from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

With that announcement, games are scheduled to start Sept. 18 and allows us to release the Michigan preseason Top 25 high school football rankings for the fall.

Davison begins the season as the top-ranked team. Northwestern commit Brendan Sullivan led the Cardinals to 12-2 season and a Division 1 state title as a junior.

River Rouge, the state’s No. 1 team from 2019, falls right behind Davison. The Panthers finished 12-1 last fall and captured a Division 3 state championship. Coach Corey Parker returns loads of talent once again in 2020.
