Softball Recap: Lincoln Northwest's Win Ends Ten-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tekamah-Herman, Lincoln Northwest was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Fillmore Central Panthers by a score of 12-7. The Falcons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Addy Walker was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Lincoln Northwest got a massive performance out of Jalyn Teichmeier, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Siegel, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Lincoln Northwest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. The last time their OBP was this high was back in August of 2024.

Lincoln Northwest's win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-17. As for Fillmore Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln Northwest will square off against Bennington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fillmore Central, they will challenge Milford at 6:30 p.m. on the 30th.
