Basketball Game Preview: De Anza Dons vs. Kennedy Titans

The De Anza Dons will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Kennedy Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

De Anza is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They were beaten by Hercules 56-10 on Tuesday. The Dons' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it 11 in a row dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Kennedy played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Mission San Jose and fell 63-33. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Payton Siquig went 8 for 16 on her way to 18 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 54.5% of Kennedy's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Catherine Cheng, who had eight points.
