Softball Recap: McLoud Gets the Win

McLoud posted their closest win since October 4, 2024 on Thursday. They never let the Chickasha Fighting Chicks get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. This was payback for the Redskins, who suffered a 6-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Elexias Patterson looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, McLoud saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Smith, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Smith's first of the season.

McLoud's win bumped their record up to 4-2-1. As for Chickasha, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McLoud will head out to face off against North Rock Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Redskins 2.4, the Cougars 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Chickasha, they will head out on the road to square off against Blanchard at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
