Preview: Corry Beavers vs. North East Grape Pickers
The Corry Beavers and the North East Grape Pickers will round out the year against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at. Corry is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Corry made off with a 48-47 victory over Union City. The win was just what Corry needed coming off of a 45-21 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, North East took their contest on the road on Monday with ease, bagging a 57-17 win over Iroquois. That looming 57-17 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for North East yet this season.
Gigi Gaston was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 16 points along with five assists and five steals. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. Alaina Rodemoyer was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
The win got Corry back to even at 3-3. As for North East, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Corry lost to North East on the road by a decisive 35-21 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Corry avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
