Baseball Game Preview: Northside Patriots vs. Glenwood Gators

The Northside Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the Glenwood Gators at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Northside's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Glenwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Northside took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Opelika. That three run margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Cayden Clay was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Reese Adams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Glenwood got the win against Russell County on Saturday by a conclusive 16-4.

Glenwood's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs over those games. As for Northside, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
