Basketball Recap: Rutherford Falls Despite Big Games from Micah Bouie and Jahmius Franklin

Rutherford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mosley Dolphins. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-29 back in January.

Jahmius Franklin and Micah Bouie certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Franklin dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards, while Bouie posted five points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Mosley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jp Holsombake, who scored ten points. That's the most points Holsombake has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Mcfatter, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Rutherford's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Mosley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.

Rutherford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-49 defeat against Pensacola Catholic on the 3rd. Mosley has also already played their next contest, a 53-42 loss against Bay on the 30th.
