Football Game Preview: Oviedo Lions vs. Eustis Panthers + Official Tickets

The Oviedo Lions will square off against the Eustis Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Oviedo has six straight wins, Eustis has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Oviedo proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 48) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They pulled ahead with a 29-28 photo finish over Evans. The 29-point effort marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Oviedo relied on the efforts of Emiliano Galarza, who picked up 86 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Sebastian Galeano, who threw for 200 yards and a pair of TDs on only 18 passes. Brock Joyce handled things on the ground, rushing for 91 yards.

Meanwhile, Eustis lost to Mount Dora on the road by a 30-14 margin on Friday.

Eustis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Oviedo, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Everything came up roses for Oviedo against Eustis in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 59-0 win. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
