Recap: Cowanesque Valley Indians vs. North Penn-Liberty Mountie
The Cowanesque Valley Indians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 45-33 win over North Penn-Liberty. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Cowanesque Valley has managed all season.
Despite the defeat, North Penn-Liberty saw an underclassman step up: Haley Litzelman dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Litzelman is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Graham, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Cowanesque Valley's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7. As for North Penn-Liberty, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cowanesque Valley will take on North Penn-Mansfield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully North Penn-Mansfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for North Penn-Liberty, they will be playing at home against Canton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Canton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
