Basketball Recap: Lowell Falls Despite Big Games from Patriceia Walsh and Diana Awwad

Lowell lost against Half Moon Bay back in December of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lowell Cardinals came up short against the Half Moon Bay Cougars, falling 63-43. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Cougars are ranked 82nd).

Lowell's loss came despite strong showings from Diana Awwad and Patriceia Walsh. Awwad posted nine points, while Walsh had 14 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Lowell and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Half Moon Bay, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Lowell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-42 win against Westmoor on the 14th. Half Moon Bay has also already played their next contest, a 58-57 loss against Menlo-Atherton on the 14th.
