Preview: Pocono Mountain West Panthers vs. Liberty Hurricanes
The Pocono Mountain West Panthers will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Liberty Hurricanes at 5:30 p.m.
Two weeks ago, Pocono Mountain West came up short against Nazareth Area and fell 41-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pocono Mountain West has scored all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Liberty ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They snuck past Nazareth Area with a 48-42 win. Winning may never get old, but Liberty sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Liberty got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ruby Miller out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Emma Pukszyn was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight assists and two steals.
Pocono Mountain West's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-4. As for Liberty, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Pocono Mountain West came up short against Liberty in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 55-43. Can Pocono Mountain West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
