Basketball Game Preview: William Penn Bearcats vs. J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado

After both having extra time off, the William Penn Bearcats and the J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

William Penn fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Red Lion last Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while the Lions are ranked 27th).

Meanwhile, J.P. McCaskey was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 66-27 defeat at the hands of Manheim Township. The game marked the Red Tornado's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

William Penn's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for J.P. McCaskey, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

William Penn strolled past J.P. McCaskey in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 64-48. Will William Penn repeat their success, or does J.P. McCaskey have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
