Football Game Preview: Vernon Lions vs. Iowa Park Hawks + How To Watch

Vernon hasn't had much luck against Iowa Park recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will host the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Vernon's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three games.

On Thursday, Vernon got the win against Bowie by a conclusive 38-17. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Jackrabbits: they've now won four in a row.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Vernon's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Adrain Felton, Jamerion Willie, and Kadyn Whiteside, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, Iowa Park came up short against Boyd on Thursday and fell 31-21. While the Hawks had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Yellowjackets 14-10.

Iowa Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
