After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. John Bosco, Junipero Serra was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 41-6 victory over the Valley Christian Warriors. The Padres haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Junipero Serra's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jace Cannon, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one score.

Junipero Serra didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cornell James and Dylan Modena. James got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Junipero Serra's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Valley Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Junipero Serra will challenge St. Ignatius College Preparatory at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Padres will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Valley Christian, they will face off against Archbishop Mitty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Monarchs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
