Basketball Recap: Ramona Convent Takes a Loss

Ramona Convent lost against Serra on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ramona Convent Tigers were beaten by the Serra Cavaliers 65-35. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-16.

Leading Serra to victory were Kaicia Snelson and Yve Young. Snelson went 9 for 19 on her way to 21 points, while Young went 7 of 13 en route to 15 points and four steals. Those 21 points gave Snelson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariyah Lewis, who posted 13 points.

Ramona Convent dropped their record down to 7-17 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Serra, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ramona Convent Tigers challenge the Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ramona Convent is facing Bishop Conaty-Loretto at the right time seeing as Bishop Conaty-Loretto is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Serra, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
