Basketball Recap: YESSENIA QUEZADA's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Panorama over Sylmar

Panorama was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to the Sylmar Spartans at home by a 58-40 margin. The Pythons lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 88-15 score last time.

Panorama's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was YESSENIA QUEZADA, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. That was a full 40% of Panorama's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of VALERY QUEZADA, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Panorama smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Panorama's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Sylmar, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Panorama has already played their next match (against San Fernando), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sylmar has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Pilibos.
