The Marysville Indians will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Sutter Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Marysville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 241 points over their last three contests.
Last Friday, Marysville strolled past Bear River with points to spare, taking the game 64-49.
Demi Boykin was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with five assists and five steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Krystal Briggs, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sutter scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Twelve Bridges and snuck past 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Sutter has posted yet this season.
It was another big night for Torrence Harter, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. Harter is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reet Bains, who scored 19 points along with two steals.
Marysville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Sutter, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Marysville have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 39.2 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Sutter, though, as they've been averaging only 35.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Marysville against Sutter when the teams last played on January 3rd as the team secured a 55-26 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Harter, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, ten rebounds, and 13 blocks.
