Recap: Boron Bobcats vs. Bishop Union Broncos

The Boron Bobcats were the 44-42 winner over the Bishop Union Broncos when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Boron suffered a tough 48-22 defeat at the hands of the Broncos on Tuesday. Boron has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Defeat or not, Boron got some senior leadership from Hailey Davis and Yazmin Page. Davis scored 11 points along with three steals, while Page. scored five points along with nine rebounds. That was a full 50% of Boron's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Boron struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bishop Union posted ten assists.

Bishop Union was led to victory by Kristin Allen and Henny Charley. Allen dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Charley scored ten points along with seven steals and six assists. It was the first time this season that Allen pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Analee Guerrero, who scored seven points along with three steals.

Boron has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Bishop Union, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Boron will head out on the road to square off against the Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. California City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Bishop Union, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Broncs at 5:00 p.m.
