Soccer Game Preview: West Campus vs. Armijo

The West Campus Warriors will head out to take on the Armijo Royals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Campus is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.5 goals per game this season.

West Campus is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Fairfield just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 2-1. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Warriors couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Lilianna De La Rosa, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Armijo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Florin on Tuesday as Armijo made off with a 4-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Royals' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

West Campus' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 11-2-3. As for Armijo, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7-2.

West Campus took their win against Armijo in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Campus since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
