Soccer Game Preview: Dunwoody vs. Alpharetta

The Dunwoody Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Alpharetta Raiders at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dunwoody will be strutting in after a win while Alpharetta will be coming in after a defeat.

While Dunwoody's victory against Tri-Cities wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Dunwoody beat Tri-Cities by a goal, winning 4-3. The high-scoring effort was just what Dunwoody needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Meanwhile, Alpharetta's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They came up short against Lambert, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Alpharetta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Lambert are ranked 13th).

Dunwoody's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8-1. As for Alpharetta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Dunwoody came out on top in a nail-biter against Alpharetta in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dunwoody since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
