Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for East Laurens

East Laurens won the last time they faced Jefferson County and things went their way on Wednesday too. East Laurens never let Jefferson County get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

East Laurens let Landon Ayers and Konner Oneal run wild. Ayers scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Oneal scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave Oneal a new career-high. Colton McCoy also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

East Laurens always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson County only posted an OBP of .062.

East Laurens' record now sits at 7-10. As for Jefferson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Coming up, East Laurens will be playing at home against Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.33 runs per game on average), something East Laurens will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Jefferson County, they will head out on the road to face off against Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson County is facing Central at the right time seeing as Central is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
