Football Game Preview: Coppell Cowboys vs. Plano Wildcats + How To Watch

Coppell is a perfect 4-0 against Plano since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cowboys will challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Coppell is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Thursday, Coppell made easy work of Marcus and carried off a 38-13 win. The Cowboys might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 21 points or more this season.

Coppell can attribute much of their success to Carter Zingelmann, who rushed for 91 yards and one score, and Jayden George, who rushed for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Zingelmann a new career-high in passer rating (163.2). Jackson Echols also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Coppell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 278 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 164 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Coppell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Daylon Montgomery and Dristant Chaudhary, who each picked up one interception apiece. Another thorn in Marcus' side was Braylon Powell, who picked up a sack and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Plano didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Rock Hill last Friday, but they still walked away with a 21-16 victory.

Coppell better focus on containing Chance Culley and Kaedyn Brown as the pair were huge in Plano's win. Culley rushed for 131 yards and one TD, while Brown gained 33 total yards. Culley is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.

Coppell's record is now 8-1. As for Plano, their record now sits at 7-3.
