After a string of four wins, Grinnell's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Benton Bobcats by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 11-10 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in July of 2024.

Grinnell's defeat dropped their record down to 23-5. As for Benton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Grinnell beat Benton by a score of 3-2 later that day.
