Basketball Game Preview: Arcata Tigers vs. Eureka Loggers

Arcata hasn't had much luck against Eureka recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Arcata Tigers will challenge the Eureka Loggers at 7:00 p.m. Arcata is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Arcata faced off against McKinleyville on Thursday. Arcata enjoyed a cozy 54-35 win over McKinleyville.

Tae Wolford was her usual excellent self, putting up 22 points. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mae Wolford, who posted nine points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Eureka waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 55-47.

Arcata is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Eureka, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.

Arcata came up short against Eureka in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 61-48. Can Arcata avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
