Basketball Recap: Shalhevet Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Shalhevet, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They snuck past the Culver City Centaurs with a 52-46 victory on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Firehawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Centaurs are ranked 208th).

Shalhevet's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. As for Culver City, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shalhevet won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pilibos at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pilibos is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season. As for Culver City, they will welcome Lawndale at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
