Soccer Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

Woodland lost against Dalton back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Woodland Wildcats lost 5-0 to the Dalton Catamounts. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 199th, while the Catamounts are ranked first).

This is the second loss in a row for Woodland and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Dalton, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Coming up, Woodland will face off against Allatoona at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodland has given up an average of 2.7 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Dalton, they will challenge Cartersville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dalton will be up against Cartersville's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.5 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
