Volleyball Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the West Noble Chargers, falling 3-0. If the Blazers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Chargers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Eastside was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into West Noble's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-14, 25-16.

West Noble found their leader in sophomore Kailyn Slone, who had 11 assists and five digs. Beverly Viscaino also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for West Noble, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

Eastside and West Noble should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Blazers (ranked 150th) will meet Hicksville (ranked 593rd) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, West Noble will face off against Churubusco at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (21 vs. 270).
