Basketball Recap: Thomas A. Edison Takes a Loss

Thomas A. Edison played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Science Leadership Academy at Beeber Rockets, falling 52-17. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 614th, while the Rockets are ranked 188th).

When it comes to explaining why Thomas A. Edison lost, don't look at Destiny Speach. Despite the final result, she posted nine points. Speach continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Science Leadership Academy at Beeber found their leader in sophomore Raegan Wells-Bradley, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 14 rebounds. The game was Wells-Bradley's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Haynes, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Thomas A. Edison dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Science Leadership Academy at Beeber, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
