Ridgeland gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They skirted past the Dade County Wolverines 2-1. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Ridgeland's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gavyn Hughley, who went a perfect1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Lincoln Platt was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Dade County now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Ridgeland will venture away from home to take on Vidalia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dade County, they will square off against Southeast Whitfield County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
