Recap: Cumberland Valley Eagles vs. Central Dauphin East Panthers
This season hasn't been kind to the Cumberland Valley Eagles, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 49-28 walloping at the hands of Central Dauphin East on Tuesday. Cumberland Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Central Dauphin East apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Cumberland Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Greta Dwyer, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Sienna Manns was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Cumberland Valley bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Central Dauphin East, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0.
Cumberland Valley will take on Carlisle at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Central Dauphin East will be home for the holidays to greet Altoona at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
