Softball Recap: Ralston's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Ralston had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Duchesne/Roncalli on Monday. The Rams put the hurt on Duchesne/Roncalli with a sharp 8-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won five contests in a row.

The result came thanks to Makenzie Macrander's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddy Mather, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Aude, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Ralston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Duchesne/Roncalli only posted a batting average of .100.

Ralston's record is now 13-3. As for Duchesne/Roncalli, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ralston will host Mercy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Duchesne/Roncalli, they will face off against Elkhorn North at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
