Football Recap: Marked Tree Takes a Loss

After flying high against Izard County last Friday, Marked Tree came back down to earth. The Indians came up short against the Cross County Thunderbirds on Friday, falling 44-20. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 40-28 to the Thunderbirds when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Marked Tree dropped their record down to 5-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Cross County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Marked Tree will challenge rival East Poinsett County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cross County is set to square off against their familiar foe Earle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
