Basketball Recap: Pitman Takes a Loss

Pitman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-22 heartbreaker at the hands of the Downey Knights. The matchup marked the Pride's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Elexi Pulido was Pitman's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Ashli Mendoza held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds. Breteel Malkopoor took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Pitman's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Downey, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Pitman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-29 victory against Modesto on the 4th. As for Downey, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 38-34 loss against Gregori on the 4th.
