Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Southmoore

After losing to Owasso the last time they met, Southmoore decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The SaberCats put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 16-6 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the SaberCats, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Southmoore got a massive performance out of Kandace Burnett, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Kaylee Baxter was another key player, going 4-for-5 with five RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Southmoore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Southmoore's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-13. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Owasso, their loss dropped their record down to 17-5.

Coincidentally, Southmoore and Owasso will both be playing Piedmont the next time they take the field. The SaberCats will head out to face the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rams will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
