Recap: Etna Lions vs. Modoc Braves
The Etna Lions suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 60-15 loss at the hands of Modoc. Etna was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-6.
Modoc's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julianna Minto, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Minto has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Jordyn Sandage was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Etna has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Modoc, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
Etna will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Weed at 7:00 p.m. Weed presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Etna in California (Weed is ranked 203rd, while Etna is ranked 841st). As for Modoc, they will head out on the road to square off against Mt. Shasta at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Shasta has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
