East Helena dropped down to 4-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They took a 25-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Laurel Locomotives. The contest marked the Vigilantes' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

East Helena's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deondray Ellis, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Laurel, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.9 points over those games.

It was another big night for Curtis Fox, who rushed for 242 yards and four scores while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024.

Looking ahead, East Helena will be playing in front of their home fans against Browning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
