Football Recap: Maize South Takes a Loss

Maize South and Goddard squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Maize South had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 27-24. The Mavericks' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Erik Olivas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Goddard, rushing for 241 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 108 receiving yards and one score. Those 241 rushing yards gave Olivas a new career-high.

Maize South now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Goddard, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Maize South nor Goddard have any future games scheduled.
