Baseball Recap: Tattnall County Victorious

Tattnall County hadn't done well against Brantley County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tattnall County Warriors walked away with a 17-14 win over the Brantley County Herons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in February.

Tattnall County got a massive performance out of Aiden Brock, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and five RBI. The dominant performance gave Brock a new career-high in RBI. Lane Dutton was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.

Tattnall County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Tattnall County and bumps their season record up to 6-11. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing ten hits in those games compared to only 4.93 in the others. As for Brantley County, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.
