Football Game Preview: Holmes Huskies vs. Marshall Rams

Holmes is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Marshall a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Holmes Huskies will be playing at home against the Marshall Rams at 7:00 p.m. Holmes has given up an average of 45.9 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Holmes is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came up short against O'Connor on Thursday, falling 52-28.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jayden Hopkins, who rushed for 163 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, and also threw for 65 yards and one touchdown. His longest rush was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another receiver making a difference was Deonta Corley, who picked up 154 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, Marshall lost to O'Connor at home by a 24-7 margin last Friday.

Holmes' loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Holmes couldn't quite get it done against Marshall in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 as they fell 37-27. Thankfully for the Huskies, Jalen Glover (who rushed for 281 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
