Baseball Game Preview: Huntley Red Raiders vs. Jacobs Eagles

The Huntley Red Raiders will take on the Jacobs Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Huntley will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, Huntley beat Cary-Grove 11-6.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jacobs, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They had just enough and edged out McHenry 6-5 on Wednesday. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 15-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

George Donze spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jacobs' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brock Vincent, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Huntley's record is now 16-1. As for Jacobs, their record now sits at 12-3.

Huntley came up short against Jacobs in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, falling 15-10. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
