Football Game Preview: Southeast Golden Buffalo vs. North RedHawks

Southeast has gone 9-1 against North recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Golden Buffalo will face off against the RedHawks at 7:00 p.m. North took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Southeast, who comes in off a win.

It was a classic East v. West duel when Southeast duked it out with West on Friday. The Golden Buffalo breezed past the Pioneers to the tune of 53-0. That looming 53-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Golden Buffalo yet this season.

Southeast didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Legend Spence, Kearion Harrison, and Jeno Jones picked up one apiece. Harrison also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven. Southeast received some extra help from Evan Brashear, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for North's offense. They had to suffer through a 64-0 loss at the hands of Heights. Considering the last time the RedHawks couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

The win made it two in a row for Southeast and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points over those games. As for North, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Thursday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Southeast has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 242.4 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for North, though, as they've been averaging only 20.6 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Everything came up roses for Southeast against North when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Buffalo since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
