Softball Game Preview: St. Mary's Hawks vs. George-Little Rock Mustangs

The St. Mary's Hawks will venture away from home to take on the George-Little Rock Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

St. Mary's is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering West Monona just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 5-3.

Meanwhile, George-Little Rock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against South O'Brien, falling 9-1.

St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for George-Little Rock, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Everything went St. Mary's way against George-Little Rock in their previous matchup back in June of 2024, as St. Mary's made off with a 12-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
