Basketball Recap: Milpitas Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, Milpitas was not quite Lynbrook's equal in the second half on Tuesday. The game between them and the Lynbrook Vikings didn't end well, with the Milpitas Trojans falling 47-33. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 510th, while the Vikings are ranked 171st).

Despite the loss, Milpitas still got an impressive performance from Jovalin Victorino, who posted 12 points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Victorino a new career-high in blocks (two).

Milpitas has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Lynbrook, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Milpitas has already played their next contest, a 49-42 win against Monta Vista on the 10th. As for Lynbrook, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-31 victory against Los Altos on the 10th.
