Softball Recap: Raytown Comes Up Short

Winnetonka hit Raytown with a five-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bluejays came up short against the Griffins, falling 14-6. The Bluejays haven't had much luck with the Griffins recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Amber Hughes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That run was her first of the season.

Raytown's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Winnetonka, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-3.

Raytown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Winnetonka has already played their next contest (against St. Teresa's Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
