The high school football season in Nevada kicks off this week and MaxPreps has your look at the state's top teams. Defending Class 5A Division I state champion
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) owns the No. 1 spot in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25.
The Gaels are the defending national champions after capping a 12-0 season with a 56-11 victory over
Liberty (Henderson) in the state championship game. Bishop Gorman picked up seven wins against in-state opponents last season, outscoring them 376-65.
Seniors
S.J. Alofaituli (6-3, 290, OL, Miami commitment),
Alai Kalaniuvalu (6-4, 300, OL, Oregon),
Derek Meadows (6-5, 200, WR, LSU) and
Douglas Utu (6-5, 300, OL, Tennessee) along with juniors
James Carrington (6-2, 270, DL) and
Jett Washington (6-4, 175, DB) lead the charge for the Gaels this season.
